Should I Hire a Realtor or Not?

The only piece of information I disagree with in this article is the section where the author states some Realtors charge up to a 6% commission, though many Realtors will list your home for a little less. The reason I disagree with this is that all of the agents I know here in Columbus charge either 6% or 7%. Granted, you may be able to find an agent who charges a little less than 6%, it is not nearly as common as this article makes it sound.

But all the other statistics are true: You will sell your home for more if you hire a Realtor than if you do a For Sale By Owner. And over 85% of homes sold are sold by use of a Realtor.
