You Tube is taking over!

Over the past few years, a few technologies have emerged and come to the forefront of everyday use: iPod, Google, MySpace, and now YouTube.

What the heck is YouTube? And why is it being mentioned here on a Real Estate Blog?

Two good questions. You are on top of your game. Let me answer those for you.

First, YouTube is basically a website that stores an unlimited number of videos. These videos can range anywhere from an episode of ABC's LOST, to music videos, to video blogs, to your family's Christmas video from last year (if you want to put that online and let everyone see you in your pajamas). It's pretty amazing, and it's continually growing in popularity. It has already overtaken MySpace and GoogleVideo in popularity, and it shows no signs of slowing. Recently, Paris Hilton began promoting her new album (yes, she sings too) on her YouTube Channel, showcasing behind the scenes videos of her making her album, music videos, and interviews. This all led to over one million views on her channel. Now that's good promotion.

As for the second question from above, "why is it being mentioned here on a Real Estate Blog?" there's a good answer to that. If you've frequented my site, know me, or have read many of the below blog entries, you know I use video Reel-Tours for my listings, and I like to incorporate videos into my marketing. So, there's almost no better place for me!

So, like Paris Hilton, I created a YouTube Channel (click here to view). I put my completed Reel-Tours online, recent clips from Insight Cable TV's "The Real Estate Show" and I even have a clip from an episode of ABC's 20/20 regarding staging your home for sale. You definitely need to check it out!
